I remember the exact feeling — a lot of excitement, a lot of skepticism, and a quiet sense that the businesses who figured it out early were going to own the next decade of their category. It feels exactly like that again in 2026 — only this time the wave is AI.
I've spent the years in between running companies in medical distribution, medical device manufacturing, and eCommerce. I've felt firsthand what it costs a small business to sit out a shift like this, and what it pays when you get ahead of one. I built Caidance because the owners around me kept asking the same question — “this AI thing, is it going to help me or hurt me?” — and most of them didn't have a straight answer they could trust.
So I'm building one — and naming the category that goes with it.
